”Greetings. You’ve reached the voice mail of Albert Wesker. I can’t come to the phone right now, as I’m either at work in the laboratory or chasing some Beast off my roof. At the sound of the tone, please leave your name and number and a suitably short message and I’ll return your call as soon as possible.
“However, if you’re Chris Redfield, stay on the line….”
[January 2021 Event - The Doctor]
"It should not have happened in the first place," Wesker replies, tiredly. "I wasn't the only one: there were dozens of others selected, many found wanting. I was one of the survivors of the gauntlet they put us through. There were thirteen of us in the end, and it would appear I alone remain." The image of a computer file, a list of thirteen names might tick through his mind.
That quote from a Disney movie garners a hint of a smirk from him. "It may seem hard to envision, but I have a god-daughter in my world. I was close with her father, who made a better scientist than parent, and I had some exposure to Disney films. So be prepared for my teeth and ambitions to be bared." At one in the same time, it's a joke veiling a hint of menace.
Re: [January 2021 Event - The Doctor]
"I'm sorry, I'm so, so, sorry." Ten hand still rests on Wesker's back.
"Did you just tell a joke?" Ten sorts of teases but also delights in the manner.
[CW: Misanthropy and Social Darwinism]
However, he makes no movement to push The Doctor's hand away, accepting its presence, accepting the mind behind it.
He might look toward The Doctor, the tiniest grin, just uncovering the tips of his teeth, crossing his face. "Perhaps I did. I'm not without a sense of humor, though it's a dark and sardonic one and likely unsuitable for Disney's target audience."

Re: [CW: Misanthropy and Social Darwinism]
PSL from Dup
[The Doctor follows. His eyes are darting around at the surroundings. He does wonder why she's leading them in the back, whereas the other tables are empty.]
Chamomile Rose silver tea.
[Ten notices Wesker is eyeing the waitress over a bit. He looks at Wesker, clearly not impressed but also expecting it. As for The Doctor himself, he doesn't seem to notice their waitress is basically - nude or doesn't care. The Doctor begins to waggle his tongue openly in thought. How do they get back?]
Re: PSL from Dup
You'll have to excuse me for for watching her so intently. She looked familiar till I scrutinized her. [In his slightly aroused state, he's trying hard not to think of the long-lost Miss Mueller.]
[He turns back to The Doctor, crossing his legs under the table top.]
An obvious question, but it needs to be asked: what do you make of this place? A social experiment or a cruel joke? Or some combination of the two?

PSL from Deer Country
Couldn't tell you.
[It's clear there's fog in those brown eyes. He's trying to work his way though. Spouse. That's what they are even if Jack and Rose are more than that]
Just because they both have the same face doesn't mean you should reflect those feelings onto him.
Re: PSL from Deer Country
You affected me, Doctor. You infected me. You recoded me. I had it in me to fight him, but I couldn't. You obliged a virus, as it were, to mutate quickly in order to survive.
[He says this with no trace of pride, but a simple statement of fact, a fact that bewildered him when it happened.]
@deercountry August TDM - With Luz Noceda [CW: Fictional virus mentioned]
"Mmm, but it carried you through that strange awakening. I'm wondering why squids, though, why choose that form, though I suppose squids are incredibly intelligent and resilient creatures. Did you know they have three hearts and their brain is distributed through their body. Also, some species taste and see colors through their tentacles," he says, with a glance to the sea.
"The change surprised me, though the danger in it didn't. I'd been exposed to an often deadly virus in my world of origin, and it had caused a chronic infection. I have a feeling that transformation cured me of the worse effects of it.
"So you're able to transform? Some of the magic from your world?" he asks, curious.
Re: @deercountry August TDM - With Luz Noceda [CW: Fictional virus mentioned]
Luz had given it SOME thought, but was somewhat concentrated on what she would have to do once she got her body again, but did wonder how it related to their Moon goddess.
"Oh, well, I was just thrust into a den of crabs, so I guess I was just scrambling to not die? I guess that instinct sort of won out, and once I got away from them, that whole thing made me remember what I was doing before I got here?"
Luz hesitated. "Well. Other people's blood can do strange stuff. Mind just sort of glows in the moonlight and smells like milk? Otherwise I think people with blood like mine have kind of more mental magic manifest."

@deercountry - August TDM Overflow - With (Darth) Maul
The scratch starts to close itself, almost as quickly as it was made, taking the scent of lilies with it. The wound seals itself shut, then even the scab folds itself back into his skin.
"Well. They haven't taken that much away," he says with a hint of relief. Then looking sideways at Maul, he adds, "'We be of one blood, you and I'... I can recall that line from a book I read as a child, but not the title, nor the author. No matter. What does matter is the meaning, and what we share in common."
no subject
’We share much in common. From the darkness both you and I are.’ Maul writes down in a large, blocky, almost childlike script, confident that is the truth as well.

[But the voice is familiar, and the username clinches it. Leon sounds much older and much more tired than any recordings Wesker might've obtained of him over the years, but there's a hint of the cocky young agent from Spain still remaining in his voice.]
I'd like to talk. And I do mean talk—you've been here for a while and I've just arrived. I'll even come without weapons to a meeting place you pick, and I'll trust you to do the same. [Despite my better judgment, Leon doesn't say. There's no real trust here, but a cold, pragmatic calculation: Wesker's been here longer than Leon has been, if he's established a lab and everything. Leon's already at a huge disadvantage, and it's in his best interests not to start a fight.
As much as it makes his skin crawl to actually talk to Wesker, he's going to have to. He doubts they can avoid each other for long, so Leon might as well get this over with.]
Re: voice; un: LSKennedy
Wesker here... Hmmm. But still someone from my world of origin. Found your way to this world created in a nightmare? [There's a hint of holding out just enough information to tantalize, but withholding the rest.]
You certainly get right to it, but I'd expect nothing less from someone as direct as you. I'd be pleased to share my knowledge of this place - and its predecessor. There's a dive bar near The Red. I frequent it, meeting a Night Walker who also doubles as a Blood Donor. Shall we meet there later this night? I assure you, I shan't have any unnecessary hardware. Though I suppose your colleagues have described me as more or less a bioweapon that's retained their personality and intellect. [He sounds as confident and collected as ever
I may arrive late. I work at the Lumenarium as a Blood Minister and that often has me on call. But I assure you, I'll be there.

Action; Backdated to Christmas
Here's to living through another year to spite everyone else's expectations. Merry Christmas. ~Maul
Re: Action; Backdated to Christmas
[Which is when Wesker finds the packages under the evergreen he'd set up in one corner of the porch room. The note brings a smirk to his lips and he knows he has to raise the bar a little on the gift he had in mind.]
[A few days later, Maul might hear some scratching about on his roof, before he finds some peculiar art and an ornate bottle of some of the local mushroom wine, along with a note.]
An elixir worthy of a living god. And this time next year, may we still be here, despite our enemies' best efforts to force a quietus upon us.
Video; un: darkness
[Even moreso than Maul, Savage understood the bonds of brotherhood that were bound by emotion and circumstance more than just blood. That's what made up the Nightbrothers at their core. So Maul agreed it would be good for his two brothers to meet. But he wasn't going to just spring Savage on Wesker without giving the latter a head's up.]
Re: Video; un: darkness
It's about time that the new child met the rest of the family. I'm not hard to find, the times that I'm out of the laboratory. If I'm not in the Archives, I'm at The Red or a small tavern called The Hunter's Rest - or I'm at The Gate training or patching up clumsy Hunters and people in training.
Be informed, though it's likely obvious: my patron, Bausphomette seems to have decided to sport with me, or at least my appearance.

Wrap?
Re: Wrap?
[ACCIDENTAL VIDEO] UN: [username not set]
It's obviously Ariadne, with her long blue hair and her mint-green skin. She's watching the fire like it's an animal she doesn't quite trust. After a moment, the wooden door opens, iron hinges creaking. A stunningly beautiful (Human?) woman with black hair and regal bearing, wearing the livery of a royal servant, walks in. She takes a look at Ariadne and smiles fondly.]
The Elves invented these contraptions centuries ago. They're called "fireplaces" and they keep the fire trapped, so it can't get out. I have something for you, Airy.
[From behind her back, she produces a brown paper package, walking over to set it on the table. Curiosity gets the better of the younger Ariadne. She stands up and walks over, shedding her blanket. Beneath it, her whole torso is wrapped up in tight bandages. In the front, they're clean and white, but along her back, there's the faint pink tinge of blood.]
What is it, Aunt Lysia?
[The woman--Aunt Lysia--opens up the package, pulling out a small, cotton dress, just the right size for Ariadne. Ariadne's eyes widen in surprise, and she lets out a yip of delight.]
That's for me?
It is. You're all healed up. Which means that very soon, it'll be time for you to go to school. Come here, let me help you put it on.
[Ariadne rushes over to Aunt Lysia. Lysia dresses her, taking care not to touch her back. Which makes lacing up the dress a little slow, but she finishes in due time, Ariadne squirming eagerly with impatience by the end.]
Now, let's do just like we practiced. Make yourself look Human.
[She wriggles her shoulders, and then allows the change to come over her, her skin turning pink, her hair turning brown.]
That's my girl! Come, let's take a look at you!
[Lysia leads her over to a small mirror against the wall. Ariadne looks at herself. She's shocked and amazed. There's a perfectly ordinary Human girl staring back at her in the mirror.]
What do you think?
Am I really going to get to go to school? And be with other children?
Yes. You are.
Well. I think it's wonderful!
[Ariadne smiles. It's a familiar smile. The smile she always reserves for the things she finds wonderful. It brightens up the feed, until at last everything fades to black.]

Do you hate Julia? [ There's some background noise, idle chatter, and folks hawking their wares, making it obvious she's out somewhere. Wesker might pick up some tension in her voice and given how recent his conversation on the network was, he might quickly deduce where it's come form. ]
Re: audio | un: sds
[He breathes in slowly, as if weighing the words before replying.]
'Hate' is a bit of a simplification. On my better days, I have some amount of peace or perhaps acceptance of Julia and her ...summoning me into her domain.
On my worse days: I've not quite worked past it, and... hence my fury toward her. I know it's irrational, particularly for a grown adult to resent a troubled child produced from an experiment. But emotions are emotions and it seems mine are more easily disarranged than I'd hoped.
...I apologize for the circuitous talk. Even now, it's a delicate subject.

Gift Delivery - December 25th
He gave Wesker two gifts. One was a pair of sunglasses suited to the taste of local Trench fashion. The other, this one far more personal, was a sketch Maul had done of him from memory. Accompanying it was a note in blocky handwriting wishing his blood brother a Merry Christmas signed from Darth Maul.]
